Ruth Huttenhain
Dr. Ruth Huttenhain is an Assistant Professor of Molecular and Cellular Physiology at Stanford University, where she leads a lab focused on the dynamics of G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling networks. She obtained her Ph.D. in Systems Biology from ETH Zurich, developing a targeted proteomics strategy for protein quantification, and later conducted postdoctoral research at UCSF, studying protein network dynamics in HIV infection. During her postdoc, she pioneered a proteomics approach that resolved protein interaction networks with temporal and spatial resolution, leading to the discovery of a novel ubiquitin network regulating opioid receptor function. Dr. Huttenhain has received several prestigious awards, including the Early Career Researcher Award from the Human Proteome Organization and multiple fellowships from the Swiss National Science Foundation and the European Molecular Biology Organization. Additionally, she serves as the Chair of the Early Career Researcher Committee in the Human Proteome Organization, advocating for young scientists in proteomics and creating mentoring and training programs.
